Most sports fans will attest that the English Premier League (EPL) is the best football league in the world. And admittedly, the EPL is and has been the best league for many years. With that said, what makes the EPL unique and individual to other leagues from different countries around the world?
The EPL is Very Competitive
If you’ve been following the Premier League, you may be aware of the high competition. No EPL side is guaranteed the title every season. All teams fight hard to win. And it’s no surprise when lesser-known teams upset the bigwigs. Even teams that people may regard as ‘small’ can also win the competition. Look at Leicester during their fairytale-like season in 2015 where they surprised by winning the EPL. Other teams that have won the EPL include Arsenal and Blackburn. Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United won the EPL between 2010 and 2020. In other leagues, it’s one or two teams that carry the day. For example, in Spain, you can bet that it’s Barcelona or Real Madrid that will lift the Primera La Liga trophy. In Germany, there’s Bayern Munich. PSG (France) and Juventus (Italy) have won league titles consecutively for many years.
The Best Football Managers and Coaches
The EPL is so attractive that no football coach would want to turn down the opportunity to sign up for the EPL sides. However, it may be the money that clubs offer their managers/coaches and players. Whether the coaches come for money or not doesn’t matter. The fact is that the best coaches in the world are in England. Mourinho, Guardiola, Klopp, Ancelotti, and Brendan Rodgers are all in the EPL. Other coaches such as Conte, Sarri, Scolari, Ferguson, and Arsene Wenger were also coaching Premier League sides not so long ago. It won’t take before Allegri, Diego Simeone, and Zidane leave their currents jobs for the EPL.
